walking the walk
I want people to know me for walking the walk not just talking the talk. I desire to fulfill the call of God on my life but in order to do that I have to align myself with His word. Even in difficult times and situation I must obey His words. If you desire to walk out your calling I encourage you to follow His commands. Not just the ones you like, or the easy ones but all of them. The hardest one is to love your enemy. Our human nature wants to do the opposite but we have to learn to train our flesh not to react. I promise I have had to do this and when you seek God with everything in you some how this isn’t so hard. I look back now and think how wonderful God is that I truly love those who have hurt me and I have no hidden agenda but to love and pray for them.
Luke 6
27-30“To you who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person. If someone slaps you in the face, stand there and take it. If someone grabs your shirt, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it. If someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.

work the words into your life
I have been meditating on Luke 6 for a bit now and I find myself challenged and moved. We so often do what has to or needs to be done but why are we doing it? It is about the why not the deeds done. Who we are is not what we do it’s why we do what we do. A good tree does not produce a rotten apple and a rotten tree does not produce a good apple. When we translate this to our lives we find that the more pollution we allow in our lives the more it begins to destroy our inner man. We begin to tolerate things we once thought had no place in our lives. We begin to compromise our values because we have been worn down by the lies of the enemy. Take a look at your life. What do you watch, listen to, engage in, talk about and act on. Now think about a time in your life that you felt closest to God, would you have done the same things then. I’m not saying we are all far away from God I am just sitting down and evaluating my life along these lines and thought I would share my thoughts with you.
The health of the apple tells the health of the tree. You must begin with your own life-giving lives. It’s who you are, not what you say and do, that counts. Your true being brims over into true words and deeds. What is your life saying?
